International Opportunities for Students
USF Health's International Programs Office is expanding the global reach of education, research, development and entrepreneurial initiatives by engaging international partners to collaborate in developing opportunities for students and faculty. In this section, you will find international student opportunities, student organizations involved in global health issues and logistical information that will help you with your planning.

Before You Go
International travel requires detailed planning. Students must complete required paperwork PRIOR to traveling outside the United States.Travel Forms
College of Medicine students are required to complete the International Travel Packet prior to travel overseas associated with USF for academic purposes.College of Nursing students should contact Dr. Sandra Cadena, PhD, ARNP prior to making travel plans associated with USF work or study overseas.
College of Public Health students are required to complete the following forms prior to making travel plans:
- All students except International Field Experience students: International Coursework Forms `
- International Field Experience students: Application, Agreements and Student Plan (Select Supervised Field Experience > "International Field Experience" > "App., Agreements and Student Plan")
Medical/Health Insurance for International Travel
The State of Florida requires that all students traveling internationally for USF related activity maintain adequate medical and evacuation insurance for illness and injury. Before departure, students must show proof of medical and evacuation insurance coverage that is valid outside the US. In this regard, USF Education Abroad has a contract with Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI). The cost is reasonable. Please select the link below for travel insurance forms. Read the forms carefully, complete and sign them. Make copies for yourself and for your College's International Office. Submit the original completed and signed forms to the USF Education Abroad Office in the Patel Center. Keep a copy for yourself and submit a copy to the office coordinating your travel. (Note: Public Health students: For yourself and for the International Field Experience office, attach a copy of the completed and signed insurance forms to your Application, Agreement and Plan. Submit one copy to the International Field Experience office. Retain a copy for yourself.)

If you plan to travel before or after your academic program, it is important that you purchase additional medical and evacuation insurance to cover the time period(s) outside your academic program.
