The Bay
Pines VA Healthcare System is located near St.
Petersburg/Seminole and provides comprehensive medical care
including acute/in-patient medical, surgical, and
psychiatric care; extended/long-term medical and psychiatric
care, rehabilitative inpatient care; and comprehensive
outpatient care with multiple specialty services available.
In addition, the Medical Center supervises a community
nursing home care program which is one of the largest in the
VA system. This Dean’s Committee facility also operates a
large outpatient clinic in Fort Myers and Community Based
Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Dunedin, St. Petersburg,
Ellenton, Sarasota, Port Charlotte, Naples and Sebring,
Florida.

The JAHVH is one of two Dean’s Committee Department of Veterans
Affairs (VA) hospitals in the Tampa Bay area.
This hospital is the busiest of four
polytrauma facilities in the nation. Services are available to
more than 116,000 veterans living in a four-county area of
Florida. The Haley VA is licensed for 640 beds including
209 beds in its Nursing Home Care Unit adjacent to the main
hospital. The hospital is connected both physically and
functionally to the university. As a primary teaching site for the
USF College of Medicine, JAHVH provides training to 183.5 USF
residents and fellows, offering residency training in all major
medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. The hospital
is also a training site for medical, nursing (more than 350) and
other health care professional students. In addition, the hospital
provides opportunities for training in all adult fields and also
provides specialty care in its Women's Center, Spinal Cord Injury
Center, and Rehabilitation/Traumatic Brain Injury Center.

Moffitt Cancer Center is a not for-profit
institution. It includes private patient rooms, the Southeast’s
largest Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, outpatient
treatment programs that record more than 135, 000 visits a year,
the Moffitt Research Center, The Moffitt Clinic at Tampa General
Hospital and the Lifetime Cancer Screening Center, and is
closely integrated with the USF College of Medicine.
In 2003, Moffitt opened its doors to the new Moffitt Clinic and
Vincent A. Stabile Research Building. These two buildings

University Community Hospital—named for its proximity to the
University of South Florida and for its charter as a
not-for-profit, community hospital—opened its doors in 1968. The

The home of the Department
of Family Medicine and location for many of the ambulatory
care and other integrated clinical teaching courses,
including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics,
Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Neurology, Radiology and
Pathology. This multi-specialty, diagnostic and treatment
center designed to provide comprehensive healthcare on an
ambulatory basis to patients from the Central and Gulf Coast
regions of Florida.

Tampa Center for Advanced Healthcare
This facility opened in
August 2007 and combines world-class health care with a
state-of-the-art building designed to facilitate learning in
health teams. Located on the Tampa General Hospital campus,
USF faculty in the departments of Surgery, Obstetrics,
Gynecology, Neurology, Pediatrics and Internal Medicine
provide clinical services at this new location. Students may
participate in such rotations generally during their fourth
elective year.
Carol
and Frank Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare
Opened in March
of 2008, this 196,000 square foot facility offers eight
ambulatory surgery centers and six endoscopy suites, located
in the medical complex at the USF Tampa campus. Students
will train with faculty from Neurosurgery, Neurology and
Psychiatry, Digestive Disorders, ENT, Sports Medicine and
Women's Health.

Davis Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center
This facility offers
general pediatrics care as well as management of such
chronic illnesses as asthma, allergies, AIDS, and pre- and
post-surgical care. Located on Davis Islands near Tampa
General Hospital, the pediatrics center takes a
family-centered approached to pediatric care with an
emphasis on comfort and convenience. The center is open
seven days a week, and provides treatment for minor
emergencies.
Harbourside
Medical Center
The USF Parkinson's Disease
and Movement Disorders Center is located at this facility on
the Tampa General Hospital campus. The Center is a National
Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence. Patients
visiting this location receive evaluation and care of
Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders including
tremor and dystonia.
