If you’re an older adult, or have a loved one who is, this page can help you find information on programs and services in the Tampa Bay region (as well as some state and national resources) that provide support and services for older adults and their caregivers. Our list is growing and information will be updated regularly.

  • The Elder Helpline is the first place to go to get accurate, unbiased information on all aspects of aging. Reaching it is easy - just call 1-800-963-5337 (that’s 1-800-96-ELDER). Or you can send an online request to the Elder Helpline here. Help is available in English and Spanish. The compassionate, knowledgeable Elder Helpline staff provides information on a broad range of programs and services, helps you understand the long-term care options available to you, helps you apply for programs and benefits, and serves as the access point for publicly-funded long term care. (For a list of Elder Helplines throughout Florida, visit the Florida Department of Elder Affairs Elder Helpline website.)

  • Senior Connection Center, Inc., is the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) for the Tampa Bay area (Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee, Highlands and Hardee Counties). Senior Connection Center, Inc., is a friendly, welcoming place where anyone - individuals, concerned families or friends, or professionals working with issues related to aging - can go for information tailored to their situation. Senior Connection Center, Inc., offers free health and wellness courses, has specially-trained SHINE volunteers to help elders navigate Medicare (and more!), protects elders from abuse, neglect and exploitation (1-800-962-2873 or 1-800-96-ABUSE) and administers the Elder Helpline.

  • USF Health Byrd Alzheimer’s Institute is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. The Byrd Alzheimer’s Institute can be reached at 1-800-633-4563.
