Before Moving

Contact your department before setting up companies to move your household. The department has access to a list of contracted moving companies that offer discounted rates to USF. There are also procedures that must be followed if USF Health is paying any of your moving expenses.

Relocation information including community profiles, a cost of living calculator, and real estate listings are located on TBO.com.

Tampa Bay Area

Profile

The Tampa Bay Area consists of several counties. The most popular counties for USF Health Faculty to live are Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas.

Depending on where you choose to live within the Tampa Bay Area, you may find toll roads are the quickest route to work. The LeeRoy Selmon Crosstown Expressway, Sunshine Skyway, Suncoast Parkway, and Veteran's Expressway all use the Sunpass for discounted, quick prepayment of tolls.

There are two major newspapers that serve the Tampa Bay Area: The Tampa Tribune and St. Petersburg Times.
