GOALS
The goals are as follows:
- Create innovative health sciences degree programs across campuses that are differentiated based on their interdisciplinary nature and on their ability to leverage the health science entities (hospitals, departments of health, health related businesses, USF practice group, etc) to provide these students practical experience both through coursework and internships in their chosen areas.
- From a program planning perspective, we will do this in an entrepreneurial manner that establishes the program's needs, design, and financial proformas BEFORE analyzing what "buckets" will either invest or receive the dollars. In other words, we will establish a business model that adds dollars and resources to USF, and then deal with how we make this new money work for all the component parts
- Allow each entity/campus to exert their own "personality" and strengths so that the systemwide program is comprehensive and understandable to prospective students
- Add a component that allows students who are unsure about where they want to move in a health professions career to get the guidance and experience which will help them make those choices.
