What is Wound Surgery?

Patients suffering from short or long-term wounds are frequently seen by our team. Your surgeon may recommend either surgical or non-surgical treatment options. Surgical options include, but are not limited to, surgically cleaning the wound and closing it primarily, skin grafts, skin substitutes (Allograft, Integra, etc), local flaps, or tissue transfer from distance sites involving microsurgical techniques.

Who is a good candidate for Wound Surgery?

Candidates must be in good health, have no active diseases or serious, pre-existing medical conditions, and must have realistic expectations of the outcome of the surgery. Talk to your surgeon about your goals and expectations for this procedure.

How is this procedure performed?
