Botox® or Dysport®
What are Botox® and Dysport®?
Botox® and Dysport® are weakened formulas of the Botulinum toxin, which cause muscle weakening when injected into facial muscles. They are most commonly used in the upper face around the forehead, at the outer eye (“crow’s feet”), and between the eyes.
Who is a good candidate for Botox® or Dysport®?
Candidates should be in overall good health. Botox® or Dysport® can be used to target areas of mild facial wrinkles and fine lines caused by facial muscle movement. Depending on your specific facial features and goals, Botox® or Dysport® may be an effective treatment option, or your plastic surgeon may recommend an alternative treatment in your initial consultation.
How are Botox® and Dysport® injections performed?
Botox® and Dysport® injections are performed with a very fine needle directed into the selected facial muscles. Multiple sites may be injected along the muscles to create the desired effect. Minimal discomfort is expected and is gone within few seconds of each injection. The final result will last three to ten months before needed reinjection.
