Caregiver Seminars "Alzheimer's Disease: What Caregivers Need to Know"

This program is intended to help individuals who are caring for a family member with Alzheimer's disease or related memory disorder. Faculty from the USF Health Byrd Alzheimer's Institute will present on various aspects of AD and caregiver issues. There is no cost, but registration is required.

  • Understanding Alzheimer's disease - diagnosis, symptoms and progression
  • Medications and current treatment options
  • Advances in research and current opportunities in clinical trials
  • Communicating with the AD patient
  • Managing troublesome behaviors
  • Coping startegies for caregivers

Institute Public Tours

On this tour, you will visit the Discovery Labs and see our researchers at work in the pursuit to find a cure for Alzheimer’s.  You will also tour our Center for Memory C.A.R.E. and learn about the clinical trials, services, and care we provide to patients and families currently dealing with this disease — all under one roof. There is also a presentation delivered by the Institute Leadership describing our plan to prevent Alzheimer's by 2020 and how you can help.
