USF Board of Trustees Health Sciences Workgroup

The business of the Board of Trustees is conducted through five workgroups composed of Trustees, administrators, faculty, staff and USF Foundation representatives. These workgroups focus on the University's attainment of institutional goals the Board adopted on December 6, 2001. Workgroups will review and recommend policies to enhance University effectiveness and efficiency in attaining these goals, and periodically will assess the effectiveness of the University in implementing the policies of the governing board.

 
 
The Health Sciences Workgroup will review and recommend to the Board policies for enhancing the Health Science Center and other health-related academic programs and the Student Health Service.
 
The Workgroup's responsibilities include:
  • Review and recommend policies relating to research, clinical and instructional strengths and compliance issues of the Health Science Center and other health-related programs (with Workgroups on Research/Scholarship and Academics/Campus Environment)
  • Review  and recommend policies relating to interdisciplinary programs in health-related areas (With Workgroup on Academics/Campus Environment)
  • Review  and recommend policies relating to hospital affiliations
  • Review accreditation status and program reviews of Colleges of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health. (With Workgroup on Academics/Campus Environment)
  • Review and make recommendations on new Health Science program proposals (with Workgroup on Academics/Campus Environment)
  • Review and recommend policies relating to the Student Health Center (with Workgroup on Academics/Campus Environment)
