Tuesday,July 1st - Hope Lodge Patriotic Dessert Party
Our nursing, public health and College of Medicine graduate students shared laughter, stories and friendship with cancer patients residing at the Benjamin Mendick Hope Lodge on the USF campus.

Thursday, July 3rd - Pre-Fourth of July Party for Refugee Youth
Our medical, public health and nursing students shared their enthusiasm about their future health professions, as well as their knowledge about nutrition, fitness and Citizen CPR, with refugee youth all around the world.

Saturday, July 12th - Surfers for Autism (SFA) at Pass-a-Grille Beach
In partnership with the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at USF, our COPH and CON students helped children have fun, develop new skills and gain new confidence, by discovering the joy of surfing !

Saturday, July 12th - Back to School Health Fair with Florida Medical Clinic
Our medical and nursing students assisted with back to school health screenings and sports physicals for youth.
Sunday, July 13th - Florida Covering Kids and Families Education station at the Rays Baseball game
Our enthusiastic nursing and public health students shared their knowledge and gifts with children and their parents attending the Rays Baseball game - what a 'cool' volunteer event !

In partnership with St. Joseph's Children's Hospital and Safe Kids Tampa, our medical, public health and nursing students led children in a wide variety of (fun!) interactive health and safety activities.

Saturday, August 2nd - Back to school health fair at Indian Cultural Center
Our medical students played an important role in providing back to school health screenings for the Indian Community!
Saturday, August 9th - Safety Safari at Glazer Children’s Museum!
Our wonderful public health, medical, nursing and pre-medical students had a blast teaching kids all about health and safety, while leading them through the Safety Safari safety scavenger hunt! Thanks to our friends with Children’s Hospital for inviting our USF Health Service Corps volunteers to participate in this amazing back to school event at Glazer Children's Museum!

Saturday, August 16th - Back to School Health Fair - South Hillsborough County
In collaboration with the Back to School Coalition of Hillsborough County, Catholic Mobile Medical Services, and Hillsborough County Government, our medical and nursing students assisted with the FREE health screenings for children....
and our public health and premedical students led children thorough FUN activity stations related to staying safe and healthy throughout the school year!

Saturday, August 16th - Back to School Health Fair at Webb MS
Our medical and nursing students also assisted with another valuable back to school health fair at Webb MS, in collaboration with the Back to School Coalition of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County Health Department
August 27th - Third USF Health Bulls Walk and Bike Week Preview Event at the WELL
Once again, our USF COPH student volunteers teamed up with university and community partners to share helpful tips about staying safe on the road during this FUN, festive & interactive bicycle and pedestrian safety awareness event.
Special features of this year's festive event included:
· 65 USF Health students, faculty & staff received free bike helmets which were donated by the FDOT and fitted by our COPH student volunteers;
· A team of COPH students, who earned a prestigious award at the recent Florida Public Health Association Annual Educational conference shared their research regarding pedestrian & bike safety on campus;
· Guests could voice their opinions by participating in online surveys;
· Guests could send photos/emails to legislators pertaining to importance of research for safe transportation and other health issues, through the Ask Your Candidates initiative;
· Guests could learn about the many fundraising walks and bike rides that our USF Health Service Corps is promoting for the fall;
· Everyone could pick up cool free educational items designed to promote safety on the road for people of all ages!

Sunday, August 31st - Health Fair at Mt. Calvary Church
Our medical and nursing students provided cardiovascular health screenings for adults and also assisted with back to school checkups for youth
Saturday, September 13th - Health Fair & International festival at First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace
What a great interdisciplinary team effort ! And a LOT of fun!

Saturday, September 20th - National Welcoming Week Picnic in the Park !
Our USF Health students helped to welcome kids from other counties to Tampa through soccer games and relay races and fun 'prizes' !

Saturday, September 20th - Car Seat inspection event at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital
Our USF Health students assisted Safe Kids Tampa by providing health education activities for families during this seat check, to celebrate national child passenger safety week.
Friday, September 26th, Tampa Area Safety Council and Safe Kids Tampa 12th Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament at MacDill AFB
Our COPH graduate students had fun providing child safety information to parents !
Friday, September 26th - Special lesson on hygiene awareness for Burmese refugees.
In collaboration with our colleagues from the Florida Department of Health-Hillsborough county, Our students from the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health led the lessons for kids ... who ever thought that hand washing and brushing your teeth could be so much fun!

Saturday, September 27th - Safety Saturday at MOSI !
In collaboration with our colleagues with St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital , our nursing and medical students had a great time teaching kids about staying safe, in a variety of fun and interactive bike/pedestrian safety education activities!
