This website provides photos of our students engaged in a number of our USF Health Service Corps events between July –August of 2011. (Note - you can see photos from the earlier part of the summer semester, at the bottom of this website January - June Photos.
In looking through these photos, you will notice the interdisciplinary nature of these events, with students learning and serving together (and having fun, too!) in a wide variety of service projects.

Teaching & Mentoring Events
This summer, our Service Corps volunteers participated in a number of on-campus teaching events in which we were able to introduce secondary school students to health careers !
On July 11th and 18th, our USF Health students shared their own academic and professional experiences with rising 10th and 11th graders attending the sum

On July 21st, youth participating in the Brain Expansions Scholastic Training (B.E.S.T.)
Program were able to learn about medicine, global public health, environmental public health, and occupational health and safety from an interdisciplinary team of USF Health students during an interdisciplinary panel discussion, presentations, lab tours and our 'Public Health is Your Health' Game!

Fun Health-Related Service Events for Kids !
So who had more fun at the Shriner’s Camp Care A Lot Carnival ? The Shriner's campers or our Service Corps volunteers ? It is hard to tell!

Once again this summer, our USF Health Service Corps volunteers
were a great asset to St. Josephs Children's Hospital Child Advocacy and Safe Kids Tampa at the All About Kids Back to School Bash at

Our USF Health students also contributed significantly to a number of back to school health fairs and sports physicals for children who otherwise might not have been able to gain access to these important medical and social services. These events were coordinated with our community partners with USF Ronald McDonald Care Mobile and the Hillsborough County Back to School Coalition. Pictured below are photos of our medical and nursing students participating in the screening portion of the Back to School health fair in Ruskin....

and students in the non-clinical graduate programs in Public Health and Medical Sciences teaching kids and their parents what they can do to stay healthy and safe during the upcoming school year!
