This website provides photos of our students engaged in a number of our USF Health Service Corps events between January 2011-June 30, 2011. In looking through these photos, you will notice both the interdisciplinary, and multifaceted nature of these events, with students learning and serving together, in a number of capacities, at the different service events. February Valentines Day Events!Each year, our Service Corps organizes festive parties for community members with a Valentines Day theme. this year, we held three special parties:
An arts and crafts party for the children at The Spring;
A Valentines Day Dessert Party for the patients and their caregivers residing at the American Cancer Society Benjamin Mendick Hope lodge on campus, as pictured below;

and a party for the seniors at the Weinberg Village!

The theme for National Public Health Week 2001 was “Safety is No Accident: Live Injury-free”. Our students contributed to a number of community service activities with a safety theme, including teaching about injury prevention in the public schools, bike rodeo and safety education events at schools, and even safe painting! As another community service component of National Public Health Week, we held our second annual Give Life Day on April 8th, whereby people donated blood at the Florida Blood Services Van, registered with the National Marrow Donor program and Donate Life

Palmetto Bay Health Fiesta, April 16th
Our medical, nursing and public health students contributed to this fun family orientated health fair, through blood sugar and blood cholesterol screenings, vision screenings,and safety education and fitness games for children!

March for Babies Walk on April 30th
This year, we had a record number of students, faculty and staff participants in our USF Health Service Corps team, and we raised over $2500 for the March of Dimes.

San Jose Mission Fitness and Fun Day on May 22nd
An energetic group of USF Health Service Corps volunteers made a tremendous difference at the San José Mission Clinic in Dover, by painting the Catholic Mobile Medical Services clinic, reading to the children, distributing clothing to the families and playing sports with the kids!

Musical Dessert Party at Hope Lodge (Guitars and Goodies) on June 6th
Our USF Health Service Corps volunteers prepared and served deserts and mingled with
the Hope Lodge residents and a medical student provided the musical entertainment!
