It is a non-profit, collaborative initiative involving national foundations, professional associations, health career advisors, educational institutions, and college students. One of the site's missions is to help increase the number of health professionals in medically underserved communities.

- NAHEC Career Compass Curriculum: A Tool for Exploring Health Occupations or Creating a Mentorship Program
A Health Career Curriculum designed and tested for the Northern Wisconsin Area Health Education Center (NAHEC) by the St. Croix Regional Medical Center in St. Croix Falls, WI, is being offered for purchase. It includes all materials used in a successful mentorship program. Sample Letters, Brochures, Forms, Agendas, Posters, and Events are included. It is an excellent resource for schools, health projects, and organizations involved in exploring health careers and mentoring activities.
