Associate Vice President, USF Health Development and Alumni Relations
Jo-Ann Alessandrini, ’98, joined USF Health as associate vice president for development and alumni relations in September 2016. A veteran fundraiser, she leads advancement programs across USF Health, oversees the USF Health Development and Alumni Relations team, and serves as a senior member of the USF Health and USF Foundation management teams.
Under Alessandrini’s leadership, the USF Health Development and Alumni Relations team partners with academic leaders and faculty to guide efforts to broaden alumni outreach and increase philanthropic support for the colleges, schools and units of USF Health.
Alessandrini previously served USF for 23 years of unprecedented growth, rising through a variety of development positions throughout the university system, including three years of serving as interim CEO of the USF Foundation. In 2008, she was recruited by Worcester Polytechnic Institute to lead its $200 million campaign, exceeding its goal by raising a total of $248.5 million.
A proud USF bull, Alessandrini holds a master’s degree in public relations from USF and a bachelor’s degree in English from Notre Dame College in New Hampshire. She has volunteered in several professional and educational organizations throughout her career, and received the USF School of Mass Communications Outstanding Alumnus Award in 1998.
